The Volunteering Support Centre of the province of Chieti (CSVCH), managed by the non-profit organisation “Centro Solidarietà Incontro Ascolto e Prima Accoglienza ONLUS”, aims at supporting volunteering through a set of activities such as promotion, consultancy, training, information and research.

The Volunteer Support Centres (CSV) are part of a network of support structures spread all over the Italian national territory as per the Italian Law on Volunteering n.266/1991 and Decree of 1997. CSVCH provides support services to volunteering organisations are managed by volunteers. CSVs are financed by foundations (mainly foundations of the banking sector).

Volunteering Support Centre of Chieti was established in June 1999. CSVCH Chieti (CSV) is fully integrated to the national network CSV.net, comprising other 78 CSVs. CSV.net is a proactive member of the European Volunteering Centre (CEV), based in Brussels.

With the aim of supporting volunteering, both qualitatively and quantitative, CSVCH delivers the following services to a host of volunteering organisations in the Abruzzo region:

1. tools and activities to improve the solidarity culture, stimulate new volunteering initiatives and strengthen existing ones
2. counselling and consulting services and qualified assistance as well as tools in support of the planning, start-up and implementation of specific volunteering activities
3. training and capacity building initiatives for volunteers and volunteering organisations;
4. information, documentation and data on activities of local and national volunteering.

To reach the greatest possible number of associations and people, in addition to the headquarter of Chieti the CSVCH have two peripheral offices in Lanciano and Vasto, two other main urban centres.
